Courtois hands Chelsea fans good news in contract negotiations.

Courtois has handed Chelsea some good news today, when talking about his Chelsea contract extension, and his countryman Eden Hazard's contract extension.

Courtois has insisted that he is close to agreeing a new contract with Chelsea, and believes that Eden Hazard will extend also. Courtois, who's contract currently ends in 2019, has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, as has Eden Hazard recently.

Courtois spoke about his new contract, saying that "It has just turned the new year, so we will wait a few weeks and then sit around the table. I'm happy at Chelsea and a deal is close." He also spoke about how he believes Eden Hazard will join him in signing a new contract: "Do Eden and I encourage each other? Yes. He will say 'if you sign, I will sign' and I will say the same to him."

Courtois said that "With the money he will raise, you can buy five players but none of them will be like Eden. It will be like Barcelona losing Lionel Messi or Real Madrid losing Cristiano Ronaldo"
